Founded in late 2014 by Ian Tomalin-Hall, a PR and marketing manager with experience across sectors including creative software, finance, and the public sector, Grammatik's goal is to disrupt the stale agency model and offer clients real value through focused and thoughtful tactics tailored to the digital age.
Based out of its East London headquarters, Grammatik's core team of ten and industry specialists serve a wide range of global clients that include cloud tech giants, cutting-edge visual effects studios, hardware manufacturers and more.
The team is made up of technology-passionate individuals with diverse marketing skill sets and specialisms. Clients buy into the whole team with access to a wide array of services at all times and can choose to work on a campaign-based or retainer model.
The company has worked with more than 40 clients around the globe and continues to expand and grow into new areas and industries, while also maintaining its core passion to bring creative thinking to the masses.
Ian has worked across content, digital and product marketing in a wide variety of industries, including technology, finance, travel and media. A former journalist with an entrepreneurial spirit, he headed up PR & Comms for global creative software creator, Foundry, though a major acquisition by Carlyle Group and three years of rapid worldwide growth.
Ian founded Grammatik in late 2014, with a vision to take smart, integrated marketing to the technology and creative industries. As CEO, Ian has grown and continues to develop a team of experts and smart, focused talent. He splits his time between client strategy and pushing the company towards new and exciting directions.
Adam’s career includes both in-house and agency side experience growing tech companies at start-up, SME and Enterprise levels.
His developed experience in strategy, digital marketing, PR, strategic partnerships and effective B2B and B2C campaigning stem from experiences including work with brands such as Sony Electronics and Amazon Web Services as well as service companies such as LiveStyled.
He now works to oversee all tech client strategy and tactical execution with a focus on growth, engagement and education for clients and their users.
Sophie Trainor is a marketing professional with many years experience in the VFX industry.
Sophie led Marketing, Communications and Branding at Technicolor’s academy award winning MPC for over 14 years. Starting as a lone PR Manager she was promoted through the ranks ultimately becoming Global Marketing Director across MPC’s film, advertising and broadcast portfolios as well as Technicolor Creative Services in Europe. She witnessed MPC’s growth from 60+ people in London’s Soho to 35500 across 4 continents ultimately overseeing a team of 12 in 9 locations across the world.
Prior to her time at MPC, Sophie was Festival Manager for LEAF – The London Effects and Animation Festival – and was responsible for presentation content focused on innovative computer graphics and visual effects; and curated the dedicated craft based awards competition.
Chris has a robust background in editorial, publishing and content marketing. He was a former journalist at the south coast’s Imagine Publishing (now Future), and drove 3D Artist’s online following and magazine readership during his two years as Editor. Prior to joining Grammatik, Chris delivered copy for the Press Association’s growing content marketing arm.
Chris joined Grammatik in 2015, bringing his experience to bear across the tone and messaging of all agency comms. He plays an integral role across content, PR, strategy, and digital, ensuring all clients receive efficient and effective service, while also supporting the growth and development of Grammatik as a business.
A design and technology industry veteran, Ash has been working in the field for more than a decade. He has previously run two independent design agencies as well as leading the Creative Direction for software company, Foundry for more than 5 years.
Ash is an expert in branding, website design and video production. His mantra is to blend UX and tech innovation with solid design thinking in every project he approaches.
He joined Grammatik as Creative Director in late 2017 and leads all creative design for a global portfolio of tech clients.
Georgia graduated from the University of Kent with a Masters degree in Multimedia Journalism.
Initially working as a marketing and SEO specialist at an entertainment industry start-up, Georgia quickly got a taste for publicity. She developed core skills in market research and content optimisation and headed up a team of contributors.
As Account Manager at Grammatik she works with both technology and creative clients to lead strategy, drive growth, and increase public awareness around products and services.
Known as the ‘PR Queen’ (and the office’s resident comic book nerd), Georgia doesn’t just put pen to paper for our clients – she adores all facets of her work, and finding new and innovative ways to get eyes on our clients’ brilliant projects.
Nathan is an experienced journalist with bylines across a number of national newspapers and numerous B2B publishing outlets. He joined Grammatik in January 2017, leveraging his journalistic skill set across our portfolio of global tech and creative clients.
Nathan leads a number of our creative client accounts, delivering quality content, strategic PR campaigns and focused client relations. He’s glued to social media, always has an eye on industry trends and knows how to cut through the chatter to get people’s attention.
When he’s not in the office, Nathan is usually found at the theatre, fawning over dogs or dancing to a banging pop song.
