Creating content for Unreal Engine’s social media channels

The client

Unreal Engine is Epic Games’ real-time 3D creation tool, used across multiple industries including game development, film, television, automotive, and architecture. Epic’s real-time technology is recognised for its ability to produce lifelike visuals and is utilised across a range of sectors to create immersive experiences.

The brief 

Following Grammatik’s delivery of the Broadcast & Live Events and Field Guide for Epic Games, as well as website content for UnrealEngine.com, we were tasked with supporting the social media strategy for Unreal Engine’s social media channels.

Our brief focused on engaging and celebrating Unreal Engine’s artist and developer community. We delivered social media content to raise awareness and inspire artists to check out the latest work created using Epic’s real-time technology, and then create their own.

The strategy

To achieve this, we crafted a comprehensive content strategy across Twitter and Instagram. Our team produced a selection of assets, including visually striking templates with plugin moments, title cards, fill-in-the-blank prompts, challenges, creator highlights, stories, polls, and seasonal-themed content to maximise organic engagement.

Grammatik created a social media strategy to present each month’s key themes and campaigns, drafting all approved content and assets. This included highlighting the launch of the Metahuman Creator, Unreal Engine’s cloud-based app that creates fully rigged photorealistic digital humans. Grammatik delivered a tailored Instagram story campaign to mark the launch. We also created campaigns to highlight different industry applications of Unreal Engine, including Creativity Week, Animation Week and Gaming Week, where we crafted deep-dive content that showcased the developers behind various Unreal Engine projects. 

With a focus on engaging the artist community, Grammatik worked on highlighting developer profiles that generated maximum engagement. 

The results

We created a social calendar of dynamic weekly social media content.

Over 20 social media content themes produced over seven months.

Five social media campaigns delivered.
