Supercharging Flipbook Studio’s social media

The client

Flipbook Studio creates stunning cross-media content utilising high-end VFX, animation, and CGI for the TV, film, video games, and advertising industries. Their team has an absolute passion for crafting innovative and beautiful visual experiences, such as VFX for the BBC’s the Worst Witch and a CG trailer for Ninja Theory’s Bleeding Edge. It’s not by chance that the studio’s work has been seen on a global scale and celebrated through multiple awards.

The brief

The real beauty of the content Flipbook Studio produces is that it can be applied to pretty much any visual space, including its own social media channels. Like any content strategy, social media marketing requires careful planning and considered application. The studio reached out to the Grammatik team to take on the task of supercharging their efforts across social media, along with wider PR & marketing efforts, including SEO, PR, and content writing.

The strategy

Audience personas

Social media, as the name suggests, requires interaction. There’s no point in posting something online if it doesn’t talk to your audience effectively. That’s why identifying your audience personas beforehand is imperative to later inform your content strategy. For Flipbook Studio, we identified four different customer profiles, their pain points, goals, and how Flipbook Studio could join the conversation.

Competitor analysis

We performed a thorough analysis to pinpoint Flipbook Studio’s main strengths and weaknesses compared to their competitors, along with any opportunities and threats. These were used to further guide the social content strategy.

Social media guidelines

Included in our social media guidelines were Flipbook Studio’s proposed social media voice, as well as best practices such as punctuation, reference of sources, dates and times for posting, visual content format, and regularly used hashtags across each platform.

Overseeing management

To optimise content scheduling and gain insightful information on post performance, the Grammatik team set up a Hootsuite account linking all Flipbook Studio’s social channels. This gives us a 360, real-time view of each platform, and enables us to respond quickly in the event of a trending topic, mention, or problematic post.

What We Did

The average number of posts shared on each channel increased by 28.8%

Overall social media followers increased by 27.7%, with Linkedin’s growing by 32.2% and Instagram’s by 44.47%.

Grammatik leveraged the success of trending hashtags on Twitter, resulting in one post featuring a project by Flipbook Studio earning an impressive 75k impressions.
